Personal Statement

I started contracting in 2000, and I first learned the trades and the business by doing it all on my own, from pouring concrete and doing supply runs to paying invoices. But along the way, I asked for advice about techniques and equipment from industry veterans and talked to people at supply houses about the right materials. I consulted with engineers and architects when I needed some expertise, and I also learned how to build trust with new clients.

My business has definitely evolved over the last ten years, and I've discovered that success in this industry hinges on good communication in our business relationships. We all learn from, buy from, hire, and consult with each other, and I started up HardHatCity to make all that happen a lot easier, so we can all get on with what we do best—get work done.
